first lutheran celebrates 100 years

Sunday, January 19, 2020 First Lutheran held its biggest celebration. The Texas District President of the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod, Rev. Michael Newman, was the guest preacher for an afternoon service and a catered meal followed at the Texarkana, Texas Convention Center.

The 100th Anniversary theme is “We will tell the next generations...” taken from Psalm 78:4. First Lutheran has a desire to reflect and give praise to the Lord for the wonderful things He has done over the past 100 years. However, the congregation is also looking forward with conviction to share the message of the gospel to generations yet to come. We have confidence, that comes from God’s promises, that He will continue to bless the ministry of First Lutheran in the years to come.
